Para ello se han analizado las publicaciones existentes y, a continuación, se ha investigado en varios archivos de Huelva y Sevilla, atendiendo principalmente a las visitas pastorales realizadas a la vicaría de Huelva, donde se mencionaban los edificios religiosos de la ciudad.
