Revista Internacional de Culturas y Literaturas, 28, 172-189. https://doi.org/10.12795/RICL2025.i28.14.e 1885-3625https://hdl.handle.net/11441/169459Nel presente contributo si intenderà, tramite fonti d’archivio e attraverso l’aggiornata bibliografia in merito, costruire la percezione del cosmo, delle stelle e del loro influsso attraverso una specifica visione stregonesca. Le donne definite streghe, nella misura in cui talvolta non fossero nemmeno interessate a pratiche popolari o erboristiche, attraverso l’interpretazione e l’osservazione del cielo, dei suoi fenomeni, interpretavano la vita e i loro accadimenti. Concentrandosi per ordine e prassi metodologica all’Italia dei secoli XVI e XVII, si intende quindi descrivere, attraverso una visione particolare, mediata da antichi saperi, i pensieri attorno ai quali le “streghe” si muovevano. Interessante in particolare è osservare il pensiero proto-scientifico, spesso privo di qualsiasi formazione e in anni talvolta ancora antecedenti alle rivoluzioni relative alla percezione astronomica. La commistione di saperi implica ancora una volta, doverosamente, un approccio metodologico interdisciplinare, tra filologia, storiografia, storia culturale e antropologia. L’osservazione della realtà, della natura, con una propensione sperimentale e fisicosperimentale, permetteva loro di astrarre problemi, e filtrarli attraverso saperi antichi e folklorici. Analizzare questo pensiero con la lente delle così definite streghe porterebbe un ulteriore spunto di riflessione in dialoghi e contributi volti ad analizzare il pensiero delle donne nella storia, tra corpo e cielo. Si procederà a una doverosa analisi dei concetti, stilemi e discipline fondative per il pensiero stregonesco, con particolare attenzione all’astrologia.In this contribution we intend, by means of archival sources and through an up-to-date bibliography on the subject, to construct the perception of the cosmos, the stars and their influence through a specific witch vision. Women defined as witches, insofar as they were sometimes not even interested in folk or herbal practices, interpreted life and its events through the interpretation and observation of the sky and its phenomena. Focusing in terms of order and methodological practice on Italy in the 16th and 17th centuries, we therefore intend to describe, through a particular vision mediated by ancient knowledge, the thoughts around which women ‘witches’ moved. It is particularly interesting to observe the proto-scientific thinking, often lacking any training and in years sometimes even before the revolutions relating to astronomical perception, of these women. The intermingling of knowledge again dutifully implies an interdisciplinary methodological approach, between philology, obviously historiography, cultural history and anthropology. Observation of reality, of nature, with a physical-experimental bent, allowed them to abstract problems, and filter them through ancient and folkloric knowledge. Analysing this thought through the lens of the so-called witches would bring further food for thought in dialogues and contributions aimed at analysing the thought of women in history, between body and sky.
