Por una parte, nos cuestionamos y analizamos si podemos considerar a Patricia Highsmith autora de novela negra y, por extensión, analizamos si nuestro corpus —A pleno sol (El talento de Mr. Ripley) (1981), La máscara de Ripley (1981), El amigo americano (El juego de Ripley) (1982), Tras los pasos de Ripley (1983) and Ripley en peligro (1992)— se puede considerar una saga del mencionado género. Por otra parte, realizamos un acercamiento y un análisis de la figura de Tom Ripley, personaje y narrador de la saga que ocupa nuestro corpus. Por tanto, el objetivo que marca la pauta de la presente investigación se concreta en dilucidar si Patricia Highsmith se puede considerar una autora de novela negra, aunque el desarrollo de este tema pretendemos abordarlo en un futuro trabajo de investigación más enfocado a este único objeto. A dicho objetivo, le sumamos el hecho de investigar si la Ripliada puede considerarse o no una saga de novela negra y, por último, cabe considerar que ambos objetivos se sustentan en un análisis semiótico de Tom Ripley en su faceta de personaje y de narrador de la saga. Por otra parte, es importante tener en cuenta que el presente TFM nace de una reflexión en la que nos percatamos de la ausencia de bibliografía y estudios académicos en el ámbito literario que aborden a Patricia Highsmith y nuestra intención no es otra que cubrir este vacío bibliográfico y abrir el camino hacia futuras investigaciones.This study on Patricia Highsmith and her work has two key elements. On the one hand, we question and analyze whether Patricia Highsmith can be considered a crime novel author and, by extension, we analyze whether our corpus —The Talented Mr. Ripley (1955), Ripley Under Ground (1970), The American Friend (Ripley's Game) (1974), The Boy Who Followed Ripley (1980) and Ripley under water (1991)— can be considered a saga of the aforementioned genre. On the other hand, we have made an approach and an analysis of the figure of Tom Ripley, character and narrator of the saga that occupies our corpus. Therefore, we aim to elucidate whether Patricia Highsmith can be considered or a crime novel author, although the extent of this topic should be studied in a future research work more focused on this single object; to which we add the objective of investigating whether or not the Ripliad can be considered a crime novel saga and, finally, we aim to make a semiotic analysis of Tom Ripley in his facet as a character and narrator of the saga. This TFM was born from a reflection in which we realized that there is a lack of bibliography and academic studies in the literary field about Patricia Highsmith and our intention is none other than to help shed some light on the narrative production of this author.Diese Studie über Patricia Highsmith und ihr literarisches Werk hat zwei Hauptelemente. Einerseits hinterfragen und analysieren wir, ob Patricia Highsmith als Krimi-Autorin betrachtet werden kann, und wir analysieren, ob unser Korpus —Der talentierte Mr. Ripley (1955), Ripley unter der Erde (1970), Der amerikanische Freund (Ripley's Game) (1974), Der Junge, der Ripley folgte (1980) und Ripley unter Wasser (1991)— als eine Serie des oben genannten Genres betrachtet werden kann. Andererseits haben wir eine Untersuchung und Analyse der Figur des Tom Ripley vorgenommen, der Figur und des Erzählers der Saga, die unseren Korpus einnimmt. Daher wollen wir klären, ob Patricia Highsmith als Krimi-Autorin betrachtet werden kann, obwohl das Ausmaß dieses Themas in einer zukünftigen Forschungsarbeit untersucht werden sollte, die sich mehr auf diesen einen Gegenstand konzentriert; dazu fügen wir das Ziel hinzu, zu untersuchen, ob die Ripliad als Krimi-Saga betrachtet werden kann oder nicht, und schließlich wollen wir eine semiotische Analyse von Tom Ripley in seiner Rolle als Figur und Erzähler der Saga vornehmen.
