El avance de la civilización ha cuestionado el trato hacia el loco, cambiando el paradigma en su atención, derivando en el término de salud mental. El artículo desarrolla los hechos y evolución en esta transformación en México que ha transitado del ámbito privado y familiar al respeto de los derechos humanos y la incorporación del loco/enfermo mental en la sociedad a través de acciones públicas por parte de los gobiernos.Since pre-Hispanic times, madness has been in Mexico, attributed to divine forces; it was not convenient to treat it, only if it altered the social order. The advance of civilization has questioned the treatment of the insane, changing the paradigm in their care, resulting in the term mental health.
