Con el objeto de dilucidar los mensajes implícitos que encierra la enigmática iconografía velazqueña de juventud, se efectuará un análisis interpretativo de esta obra, en particular, desde su estudio semiótico a través del plano de la expresión y del planodel contenido como estrategia didáctica. El formatocompositivo empleado por el pintor sevillano en esta creación, que habría de invertir las convecciones narrativas pictóricas al encuadrar el espacio contenido en la escena religiosa, visto a través de una ventana, detrás de la temática contemporánea de lasfiguras y los objetos del primer plano, reflejará la singularidad de las producciones pertenecientes a la etapa inicial del maestro.Al estudiar su articulación interna se pretende demostrar que la decodificación del mensaje integral de la pintura pudiera ser tan válido en su lectura visual, lo mismo que la selección de una unidad estratégica como el motivo de la ventana con tema bíblico. Precisamente, este fragmento enmarcado parece contener la clave para interpretar el significado del cuadroIn this text, a review of scientific literature is undertaken around a series of structural innovations introduced by Diego de Velázquez based on the painting Christ in the House of Martha and Mary(1618). In order to elucidate the implicit messages contained in the enigmatic iconography of Velazquez's youth, an interpretative analysis of this work will be carried out, in particular, from its semiotic study through the level of expression and the level of content as a didactic strategy. The compositional format used by the Sevillian painter in this creation, which would invert the pictorial narrative convections by framing the space contained in the religious scene, seen through a window, behind the contemporary theme of the figures and objects of the first flat, will reflect the uniqueness of the productions belonging to the master's initial stage. By studying its internal articulation, the aim is to demonstrate that the decoding of the painting's integral message could be as valid in its visual reading, as is the selection of a strategic unit such as the window motif with a biblical theme.
