International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 120 (May 2020), 184-202.0888-613Xhttps://hdl.handle.net/11441/106621The present work introduces the Knowledge Harnessing, by showing its theoretical founda-tions as well as a three-way decision model to deal with it. The problem poses how toextract valid information about a specific context from conflicting or uncertain informationreceived by a system (or agent). With this aim, forgetting variable operators are used toboth characterize the problem from the logical point of view and provide a theoretical so-lution as an acceptance-rejection problem. Since the formalization is semantic in nature (itconsiders the models of the knowledge base that admit the extracted knowledge), generalbounds are provided for acceptance-rejection evaluation on boundary region.application/pdf19engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Three-way decisionsKnowledge-based systemsVariable forgettingKnowledge HarnessingA model of three-way decisions for Knowledge Harnessinginfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess10.1016/j.ijar.2020.02.010
