La documentación concerniente a su gestión y gobierno permanece prácticamente inexplorada, en parte por lo escasa, pero sobre todo porque no proporciona demasiada información, al encontrarse los mismos datos repetidos en diferentes tipologías de códices diplomáticos y algún documento suelto. Desde el punto de vista de la historia del documento, sin embargo, su conservación nos permite reconstruir un paisaje documental verdaderamente interesante, que nos muestra cómo el re curso a la escritura fue la herramienta con la que contaron los capellanes y cofrades para la defensa de sus derechos y cómo se fue incardinando en el día a día de estos. La plasmación de esos mismos derechos en varios formatos nos ha facilitado dibujar una arquitectura documental rica, desde la que aumentar el conocimiento estrictamente histórico que se tenía hasta el momento de lo que un día fue la capilla del obispo de Scalas.The Scalas Chapel was founded by Bishop Baltasar del Río in the middle of the 16th century. The documentation concerning its management and government remains practically unexplored, partly because of its scarcity, but above all because it does not provide much information, since the same data is found repeated in different types of diplomatic codices and some single documents. From the point of view of the history of the document, however, its conservation allows us to reconstruct a truly interesting documentary landscape, which shows us how the use of writing was the tool that chaplains and confreres had to defend their rights and how it became part of their daily lives.
