A pesar de todos los estudios que han estado proliferando acerca del tema, apenas hay información académica respecto a su desarrollo en Asia, especialmente en Japón. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza cómo se está manifestando dicha práctica en el país nipón, basándose en los ejemplos que marcan distintos enclaves oscuros del país, como Hiroshima o el bosque Aokigahara. Para ello se toma como base la clasificación de Philip Stone, comprobando las dificultades que presenta al intentar adaptarla al paradigma japonés. A su vez se tienen en cuenta los aspectos positivos y negativos del desarrollo del tanatorusimo en Japón, para determinar qué elementos son necesarios y qué aspectos hay que tener en cuenta para poder realizarlo, tanto turistas como proveedores, de forma respetuosa con las comunidades locales y el entorno.Dark tourism or thanatourism is a phenomenon that has continued to gain popularity in recent years. Despite all the studies that have been proliferating on the subject, there is hardly any academic information regarding its development in Asia, especially in Japan. This Final Degree Project analyses how this practice is manifesting itself in the Japanese country, based on the examples that mark different dark enclaves, such as Hiroshima or the Aokigahara forest. For this, Philip Stone's classification is taken as a basis, verifying the difficulties that it presents when trying to adapt it to the Japanese paradigm.
