Para ello, hemos seleccionado dos grupos de sujetos: 48 trasplantados hepáticos y los 48 familiares más allegados de estos pacientes. Hemos empleado una Encuesta Psicosocial y los siguientes instrumentos: «Escala de Ansiedad y Depresión en Hospital», «Escalas de Ansiedad y Depresión de Leeds» y «Escala para la Evaluación del Apoyo Social». Los resultados mostraron que la salud mental de los trasplantados hepáticos se halla más afectada cuando el paciente está ingresado en la UCI y cuando sus familiares se hallan depresivos, lo cual suele ocurrir cuando éstos reciben un escaso apoyo socialWe analysed the psychological repercussions of liver transplant, taking into account several variables: the mental health of relatives, social support received by them and the place of hospitalization of the patients. To do this we selected two subject groups: 48 liver transplant patients and 48 relatives closest to the patients. We applied a Psychosocial Questionnaire and the following tests: «The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale», «The Leeds Scales for the Self-Assessment of Anxiety and Depression», and «Social Support Scale».
