La contribución tiende a resaltar las características formales y decorativas de los artefactos, a menudo caracterizadas por un marcado realismo, en algunos casos acentuado por el color de los rostros, rematados con colores que simulan la tez.The article presents a review of anthropomorphic reliquaries made in Sicily between the second half of the 16th century and the end of the 17th century. These are works that interpret the peculiar purposes of Counter-Reformation art, strategically aimed at carrying out a new evangelization to dispel the problems that arose as a result of the Protestant Reformation.
