La línea editorial de los medios puede influir en la cobertura, determinando la selección de temas y el enfoque de las noticias. El Barómetro Sanitario 2023 del CIS indica que Andalucía lidera las demoras en atención primaria en España y enfrenta una espera prolongada para consultas con especialistas. El Barómetro Andaluz de septiembre de 2023 señala que la sanidad es la segunda mayor preocupación para los andaluces. Desde que el Partido Popular gestiona el sistema sanitario andaluz en 2018, ha recibido críticas por largas listas de espera y una gestión controvertida. Los recortes de gasto público durante la crisis económica bajo el PSOE y la gestión del PP han contribuido a los problemas actuales. En 2024, el presupuesto sanitario aumentó un 3%, pero sigue por debajo de la media nacional, y se critica el aumento del gasto en sanidad privada como una "privatización encubierta". La investigación analiza la cobertura del sistema sanitario andaluz en la prensa y la televisión en el mes de mayo de 2024. Se considerarán una serie de variables que permitirán verificar la hipótesis de la investigación: la cobertura periodística positiva o negativa a la hora de elaborar y presentar la información sobre la situación del sistema sanitario andaluz va a estar determinada por la línea editorial de cada medio. Se estudian dos periódicos privados (ABC y elDiario.es) y dos canales de televisión públicos (Canal Sur y RTVE Andalucía) con líneas editoriales diferentes y evaluando cómo se presenta la información de manera positiva o negativa, así como, la presencia de noticias sobre el Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS).Health and the healthcare system are one of the main social concerns, and the media plays a crucial role in informing about the healthcare system, exposing its precariousness, and pressuring institutions to improve it. The editorial line of the media can influence coverage, determining the selection of topics and the focus of the news. The 2023 Healthcare Barometer from CIS indicates that Andalusia leads in primary care delays in Spain and faces prolonged waits for specialist consultations. The Andalusian Barometer of September 2023 points out that healthcare is the second biggest concern for Andalusians. Since the Popular Party has managed the Andalusian healthcare system in 2018, it has received criticism for long waiting lists and controversial management. Public spending cuts during the economic crisis under PSOE and the management by the PP have contributed to the current problems. In 2024, the healthcare budget increased by 3%, but it is still below the national average, and the increase in spending on private healthcare is criticized as a "covert privatization." The research analyzes the coverage of the Andalusian healthcare system in the press and television in May 2024. A series of variables will be considered to verify the research hypothesis: the positive or negative journalistic coverage in the preparation and presentation of information about the situation of the Andalusian healthcare system will be determined by the editorial line of each media outlet.
