One often needs to understand morphisms between a pair of persistence modules as these appear very naturally in practical situations. Even though one might express such morphisms as the direct sum of indecomposable modules, in most cases the decomposition is out of our reach. We define an easy-to-compute partial function relating the interval decomposition of the domain and codomain of such morphisms.
