Evaluation of the modulation of the intracellular production of hydrogen sulfide as a therapeutic weapon to promote healthy aging. (Tesis Doctoral Inédita). Universidad de Sevilla, Sevilla.https://hdl.handle.net/11441/172055Aging is a major driving force behind metabolic decline, loss of functionality and death. There are redox-active metabolite that plays a critical role in cellular metabolism. The proposed biological actions of H2S include the post-translational modulation of enzymes through protein persulfidation, antioxidant capacity, and as a substrate for the mitochondrial electron transport chain. Remarkably, we discovered that certain compounds in mice improve healthspan in male mice. Conversely, studies in human plasma show that post-translational modifications correlate with certain parameters of health. Thus, our results support the potential use of compounds to promote healthy aging.application/pdf174 p.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Evaluation of the modulation of the intracellular production of hydrogen sulfide as a therapeutic weapon to promote healthy aginginfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
