Universidad de Sevilla, Sevilla.https://hdl.handle.net/11441/165930Uno de los objetivos principales de la Estadística y, en específico, del Muestreo Estadístico es la precisión de las estimaciones realizadas. Para ello, se han desarrollado numerosas técnicas con este fin. Entre estas, se encuentra la incorporación de la información auxiliar a los procedimientos habituales del muestreo. La presencia de la información auxiliar es mucho más común de lo que puede parecer puesto que existe un gran número de estudios anteriores, censos u otras fuentes de datos de las que se pueden rescatar variables. El uso de esta información será estudiado no solo desde distintas ópticas, sino también desde las distintas formas en las que se puede manifestar: variables cuantitativas o cualitativas y variables unidimensionales o multidimensionales. Este trabajo comienza sentando las definiciones y la notación básicas en el capítulo 1. Con esto, es posible proponer distintas expresiones de estimadores que aprovechen la información auxiliar disponible. Además de esto, en los capítulos 2 y 3, se explorará también bajo qué condiciones o circunstancias la incorporación de esta información proporciona mejoras en las estimaciones. Además de estimadores que usen de manera implícita esta información, existen otras técnicas que hacen uso de estas variables auxiliares. En particular, este trabajo hará especial hincapié en una de ellas que está ganando gran popularidad últimamente: la técnica de la calibración. Esta estrategia se estudiará en el capítulo 4. El capítulo 5 se aleja de la óptica estudiada hasta el momento proponiendo un uso alternativo de esta información. En concreto, se busca aplicar esta para la estratificación de la población para lo que será necesario recurrir al uso de técnicas del análisis multivariante. Por ´ultimo, en el capítulo 6, se busca responder a uno de los principales retos de las estimaciones: el problema de la no respuesta. Las tasas de no respuesta son cada vez más comunes en las encuestas. Es, por ello, por lo que se buscará una solución a este problema a través de la información adicional disponible. Cabe mencionar que algunos de los capítulos anteriores comprenden una sección en la que se analizan datos reales para verificar las propiedades y los resultados expuestos en el trabajo.One of the main objectives of Statistics and, specifically, of Statistical Sampling is the precision of the estimates made. Numerous techniques have been developed for this purpose. Among these, the incorporation of auxiliary information can be found. The presence of auxiliary information is much more common than it might seem since a large number of previous studies, censuses or other data sources provide resources from which data could be extracted. The use of this information will be studied not only from different perspectives but also from the different forms in which it can manifest itself: quantitative or qualitative variables and one-dimensional or multidimensional variables. This project starts by establishing the basic definitions and notation in Chapter 1. Having done that, it is possible to propose different expressions of estimators that make use of the auxiliary information available. In Chapters 2 and 3, not only will this be studied but it will also be explored under what conditions or circumstances the incorporation of this information improves the estimations. In addition to estimators that implicitly use this information, other techniques make use of these auxiliary variables. In particular, this paper will place an emphasis on one, that is gaining more and more popularity recently: the calibration technique. This strategy will be studied in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 distances itself from the other chapters because it proposes an alternative use of this information. In particular, we aim to apply it to the stratification of the population. Therefore, it will be necessary to resort to the use of multivariate analysis techniques. Finally, in Chapter 6, a solution to one of the main challenges of sampling, the problem of non-response, is sought. Non-response rates are increasingly common in surveys. Therefore, a solution to this problem will be found through the additional information available.
