Rodrigo Marín y Rubio (1659-1732), singular y desconocido eclesiástico de la España barroca, para incluirlo en el haber del polifacético artista granadino José Risueño (1665-1732).El lienzo fechado en 1708 y enviado por el dicho D. Rodrigo al cabildo de la catedral de Segorbe, previo a su toma de posesión del obispado, es una obra maestra en su género, estilísticamente concuerda con el buen hacer de Risueño y, finalmente,es muy similar al que, por esas mismas fechas, realizó del arzobispo granadino D. Martín de Ascargorta, por fortuna firmado, aunque no fechado.On the walls of the Cathedral of Segorbe hangs a superb portrait of the Bishop D. Rodrigo Marín y Rubio (1659-1732) which was painted by the great andalusian artist José Risueño (1665-1732) in 1708. The author offer reasons to be able to assume that the portrait was painted by Risueño in Granada just the year before D. Rodrigo was elected Bishop of Segorbe. The attribution of the painting it is based on comparison on a signed portrait of the Bishop D.
