La libre interacción y extracción de mercaderías y metales vía Buenos Aires (1770-1810) fue una de las primeras medidas hechas por el virrey del Río de la Plata, Pedro de Ceballos para demostrar su independencia económica y política del virreinato del Perú. En un primer momento, significó un gran golpe para la economía de los comerciantes limeños y que sirvió para crecer la leyenda del gran poder político de Pedro de Ceballos en las Indias.The following article is a topic little studied on the history of the viceroyalties of Peru and Río de la Plata in spite of its importance.
