Dichas alocuciones estaban directamente vinculadas a su pasado como gobernador y presidente del Consejo de Indias y reflejaban su interés por poner a los territorios americanos en el centro de la política exterior de la Monarquía Hispana. Analizamos los registros de las consultas para dar cuenta de las distintas posturas respecto de la presencia inglesa en el Mar Caribe y el legítimo reclamo de su devolución frente a una posible paz.In this paperwe seek to investigate the constultasof the Council of State to recover the interventions of the II Count of Castrilloin the years 1665-1668.
