El presente artículo, a la luz de fuentes gráficas y documentales conservadas en el Archivo Histórico Municipal de Sevilla y la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría, inéditas en su mayor parte, estudia las transformaciones urbanísticas que a lo largo del siglo XIX ha experimentado la plaza del Museo.The square, linked with the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville from the beginning -hence its name-, is the result of the demolition of an extensive area of the old convent of La Merced.
