Estas publicações, ao mesmo tempo em que divulgam um nascente pensamento regional e identitário, auxiliam na formação de um sentimento nativista que colaborará, mais tarde, na eclosão dos movimentos independentistas. Neste artigo, propomos uma síntese histórica para refletir sobre as origens do jornalismo do Vice-reino de Nova Granada, comparando as características comunicacionais de seus veículos com aqueles encontrados em outras colônias ibéricas, para então se pensar em possíveis conexões nas origens do jornalismo latino-americano.From the first printing press, apparently made available between 1737 and 1738, until the year 1810, when the first manifestly revolutionary and independentist newspaper appears, the work of Antonio Nariño, the history of journalism in Colombia, then Viceroyalty of New Granada, is quite busy and follows the characteristics of other presses in other viceroyalties, such as Nueva España and Perú, and the captainciesgeneral of Guatemala and Cuba. These publications, at the same time as they disseminate a nascent regional and identity thought, help in the formation of a nativist feeling that will later contribute to the emergence of independence movements.
