Uno de los factores de riesgo que podría llevar a la aparición de complicaciones es el tipo de conexión pilar-implante. Se plantea un trabajo que toma como objetivo revisar la evidencia científica existente referente a la importancia que tiene el uso de un tipo de conexión pilar-implante u otro sobre el funcionamiento mecánico y biológico del implante. Y, como objetivo secundario, plantear qué conexión pilar-implante podría ser la más favorable. Para ello se utilizó la base de datos PubMed. De los resultados de la búsqueda fueron analizados 15 artículos. Tras la revisión se concluye que la conexión pilar-implante interna cónica es la que mejores resultados biológicos y mecánicos tiene, siendo por ello la más favorable.Nowadays, even though dental implant therapy is widely accepted when having to replace lost teeth, there are complications that could affect the outcoming of the treatment. One of the risk factors that could provoke such complicatios is the type of implant-abutment connection. This article aims to review the exisitng scientific evidence regarding the importance of the use of one type of implant-abutment connection or another on the mechanical and biological functioning of the implant. And, as a secondary objective, to consider which abutment-implant connection could be the most favourable. For this, the PubMed database was used. From the search results, 15 articles were analyzed.
