Si así fuera, esta disciplina se desacreditaría filosóficamente, al entrar en liza con una de las bases de la filosofía: sus dimensiones críticas. La crítica implica la capacidad de poner en duda las bases del sistema ideológico y, así, evitar quedar alienado; de hecho, el individuo alienado aceptará sin cuestionamiento alguno la realidad dada. Este artículo explora la validez de esta argumentación recriminatoria hacia la consulta filosofía partiendo de la teoría, los textos y las prácticas de los principales representantes de la disciplina a nivel nacional e internacional.Philosophical counseling has been criticized because it has been considered a normalizing and adaptative activity in the social system. If this were the case, this discipline would be discredited philosophically, because it would conflict with one of the bases of philosophy: its critical dimensions. Criticism requires the ability to question the bases of the ideological system and thus it prevents the subject from becoming alienated. That alienated person will accept the given reality without question.
