The objective of this project is to realize a state of the art related to molten salts based on chloride for high temperature thermal energy systems. First, an introduction is made, with the aim of giving an idea of which are the different types of solar thermal power plants that exist, explaining what each one consists of and a description of the temperature ranges in which they usually work together with a comparison where information about the disadvantages and advantages of each of these technologies is provided. Next, we talk about energy storage systems and their interest. Then we talk about the heat transfer fluids most used by the thermal industry, describing them and indicating the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Then we direct the study to the salts based on chlorides, making a comparison between the different chloride salts and their thermal properties and we will also see which are currently used in the industry or which are being studied with the intention of using them in the future in thermal installations . Finally, a state of the art is made where all the available information about the different chloride based salts that are being studied and the tests that are being carried out are collected in great detail, and a summary table will be provided at the end of this section. with all the properties and characteristics of the different salts based on chloride that have been seen in this document. |
