Social rejection among equal students during their childhood is considered a problem. It does not only affect the social competence acquisition –whose consequences are severe for those rejected- but also does not allow the student to develop properly. Hence, it is essential to know the different reasons that cause such problem, like those related to the behaviour either the academic ones. Also, it should be taken into consideration the skills of the teacher when recognising the rejected students in order to act. 154 students of Primary Education and their teachers have taken part in this research. Rejected students have been detected throughout sociometric instruments, also by academic variables that make them belong to this group and other points. A survey has allowed us to know the first impressions and the teachers’ skills regarding this topic. It is proved that there are rejected students in every class, being the second sociometric type the most common. Boys are most often rejected than girls. There is also a behavioral pattern associated with rejection characterized by aggressive behaviors of different types, disruptive, among others. In addition, teachers are not fully competent in identifying rejected students. Cases of rejection in the classroom and the difficulties of the teacher to detect them indicate aspects of potential improvements in the classroom.es
