Land Art, Ruralismo, y Paisajismo Noruego

Abstract

Las rutas turísticas naturales son, sin lugar a dudas, una manera nueva de revitalizar las zonas rurales, sobre todo y especialmente asociadas a lugares de costa y montaña, pero también a cual otro tipo de atractivo cultural o paisajístico. La investigación se plantea como principal objetivo indagar el potencial de intervenir en el paisaje natural asociado a una arquitectura planteada como arte, o arquitectura de paisaje, y que realza el valor intrínseco de la belleza inaudita de numerosos paisajes, buscando con ello acercarlos a todo tipo de público. Se trata de una posible estrategia metodológica en aras de revitalizar áreas rurales desfavorecidas, o bien no suficientemente conocidas, posibilitando así conectar realidades tradicionalmente inconexas como son el mundo rural y el mundo del arte y la arquitectura contemporánea. En este sentido, se parte, a manera de introducción, de las míticas propuestas del Land Art en paisajes naturales, el arte ambiental o arte de la tierra de los años sesenta, con autores emblemáticos como Robert Smithson, Richard Long o Christo y Jeanne-Claude. Se plantea por ello un estudio de casos de arquitectura contemporánea influida por el Land Art; dicho estudio aborda como ejemplo emblemático la notoria calidad arquitectónica de las rutas panorámicas de Noruega, en relación con el diseño esmerado de los proyectos Art y Land-scape. En este sentido, cabe citar algunos ejemplos de autores como Peter Zumthor y Louise Bourgeois en Steilneset Memorial, Carl-Viggo Holmebakk y el mirador Sohlbergplassen, los landscape de Jensen & Skodvin, el estudio CODE con el mirador Utsikten o Bergsbotn, Reiulf Ramstad con Selvika o Haugen/Zohar Architects y el área de descanso de Ureddplassen.Tras el estudio se concluye que es posible y deseable una revitalización rural que vaya asociada a la revalorización del paisaje, y todo ello mediante propuestas de calidad arquitectónica que buscan despertar emociones en el espectador. // Natural tourist routes are, without a doubt, a new way of revitalizing rural areas, especially and especially associated with coastal and mountain places, but also with any other type of cultural or scenic attraction. The main objective of the research is to investigate the potential of intervening in the natural landscape associated with an architecture presented as art, or landscape architecture, and that enhances the intrinsic value of the unprecedented beauty of numerous landscapes, thus seeking to bring them closer to all types of audiences. It is a possible methodological strategy in order to revitalize disadvantaged rural areas, or those that are not sufficiently known, thus making it possible to connect traditionally unconnected realities such as the rural world and the world of contemporary art and architecture. In this sense, it starts, as an introduction, from the mythical proposals of Land Art in natural landscapes, environmental art or art of the earth of the sixties, with emblematic authors such as Robert Smithson, Richard Long or Christo and Jeanne-Claude. A case study of contemporary architecture influenced by Land Art is therefore proposed; this study addresses as an emblematic example the notorious architectural quality of Norway's scenic routes, in relation to the careful design of the Art and Land-scape projects. In this sense, it is worth mentioning some examples of authors such as Peter Zumthor and Louise Bourgeois in Steilneset Memorial, Carl-Viggo Holmebakk and the Sohlbergplassen viewpoint, the landscapes of Jensen & Skodvin, the CODE studio with the Utsikten or Bergsbotn viewpoint, Reiulf Ramstad with Selvika or Haugen/Zohar Architects and the rest area of Ureddplassen. After the study, it is concluded that a rural revitalization that is associated with the revaluation of the landscape is possible and desirable, and all this through proposals of architectural quality that seek to awaken emotions in the viewer.
