dc.description.abstract | Introduction: root canal treatment consists of the removal of infected and/or necrotic
pulp tissue, mechanical instrumentation, and chemical disinfection of the root canal
system, ending with obturation and sealing of the pulp space. The mechanical
instrumentation of the canal can be manual or rotary instrumentation, which may include
sequential file systems or single file systems. Objectives: the main objective is to know
the different single file rotary systems that exist today. The secondary objectives must
show the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Material and method: the
2
Pubmed database was used for the search. As well as for the selection of the single file
systems, a search has been carried out in the different commercial houses, compiling a
total of 14 systems. Results: We summarize in a table the single file systems that currently
exist and the main characteristics of each system, among which are the alloy, type of
movement, cross section, ISO size and the taper of each of the files. systems. Discussion:
We examined the bacterial effectiveness in reducing the bacterial load of single file
systems that, as well as the preservation of the original morphology of the canal system
in the instrumentation of the canal system, finally, we analyzed the resistance to bending
and to the clinical fatigue presented by the duct systems shown in the results. Conclusion:
Single file systems are effective and sufficient to achieve correct and adequate
disinfection of the canal despite the use of a single file. The system that presents a greater
bacterial reduction during instrumentation and a greater preservation of the canal anatomy
is the XP Endo shaper compared to the other systems. The system that presents a greater
resistance to flexion is Reciproc Blue. | es |
