Well known and proclaimed by Francisco Ayala itself his devotion to Cervantes, I am interested here in the relations between the parody and what Ayala calls literary saturation, built over the so called intertextuality and ... Well known and proclaimed by Francisco Ayala itself his devotion to Cervantes, I am interested here in the relations between the parody and what Ayala calls literary saturation, built over the so called intertextuality and interdiscoursivity. I start from the Ayala’s reflections about Cervante’s parody in the Quixote and inquire about both writers’ parodic strategies, considering that today’s cultural atmosphere, which modulates Ayala’s discourse and hyperdiscourse, also shapes his parodic satire, closely tied with grotesque aesthetic, like Cervantes’. It is recalled here how, since ancient times until now, that aesthetic keeps an unbreakable link with worrying human being’s cosmovisions, as well as with particular situations in a social space, not meaning the conclusion that the whole grotesque history repertoire comes from despairing positions about the world. That is why no despairing attitudes should be attributed to Francisco Ayala. |
