Promociones y Publicaciones Universitarias, PPU, 1988) Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Sáez Agulló, Carmen; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Several different ways of defining the Köthe dual of echelon spaces of Banach-valued functions are shown to be equivalentArtículo in λ-sums of normed spaces(Guy Hirsch, 1989) Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Sáez Agulló, Carmen; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Let E n , n=1,2,··. be a sequence of normed spaces and λ an AK-Köthe sequence space. The λ-sum of the spaces E n is defined by λ{E n }:={(x n ) n : x n is in E n and (|x n |) n ∈λ}. Starting from the topology in λ, λ{E n } can be given a natural topology. In this paper we characterize the dual of λ{E n } as the λ × -sum of E n ' and give conditions for λ{E n } to be quasi-barrelled, barrelled, reflexive, bornological or distinguished.Artículo Extensions of topological algebras(Springer, 1989) Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Fernández Carrión, Antonio; Müller, Vladimir; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Let Λ be a perfect Köthe function space in the sense of Dieudonné, and Λ× its Köthe-dual. Let E be a normed space. Then the topological dual of the space Λ(E) of Λ-Bochner integrable functions equals the corresponding Λ×(E′) if and only if E′ has the Radon–Nikodým property. We also give some results concerning barrelledness for spaces of this kind.Artículo Complemented copies of c0 in vector-valued Köthe-Dieudonné function spaces(Springer, 1992) Díaz Madrigal, Santiago; Fernández Carrión, Antonio; Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Let [Lambda] be a barrelled perfect (in the sense of J. Dieudonné) Köthe space of measurable functions defined on an atomless finite Radon measure space. Let X be a Banach space containing a copy of c0, then the space [Lambda(X)] of [Lambda]-Bochner integrable functions contains a complemented copy of c0.Artículo On the Mikusiński-Antosik diagonal theorem(De Gruyter Open, 1992) Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Virués Gavira, Juan Manuel; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)We give and improvement cf de Mikusinski-Antosik Diagonal Theorem. From this result we obtain as corollaries the other matrix lemmas used by P. Antosik and C. Swartz, showing that they have a common characterArtículo The space of Pettis integrable functions is barrelled(American Mathematical Society, 1992) Drewnoswki, Lech; Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)It is well known that the normed space of Pettis integrable functions from a finite measure space to a Banach space is not complete in general. Here we prove that this space is always barrelled; this tells us that we may apply two important results to this space, namely, the Banach-Steinhaus uniform boundedness principle and the closed graph theorem. The proof is based on a theorem stating that a quasi-barrelled space having a convenient Boolean algebra of projections is barrelled. We also use this theorem to give similar results for the spaces of Bochner integrable functions.Artículo Enseñar con mathematica(Universidad de Sevilla, 1994) Díaz Madrigal, Santiago; Fernández Carrión, Antonio; Rodríguez Luis, Alejandro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada IIArtículo The space of countably simple bounded functions with values in a DF-space(Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 1994) Díaz Madrigal, Santiago; Fernández Carrión, Antonio; Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II; Universidad de Sevilla. FQM133: Grupo de Investigación en Análisis FuncionalWe study the possibility of lifting some properties, as being a (barreled, quasi-barreled, bornological, or ultrabornological) DF, gDF, or quasi-normable space, from a locally convex space E to the space S ,\ 0(m,E) , of countably-valued and bounded (classes of m -a.e. equal) functions from a measure space (_O_,S,m) into E .Artículo Köthe echelon spaces à la Dieudonné(Elsevier, 1994) Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Sáez Agulló, Carmen; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Let (gn) be a sequence of locally integrable functions defined on a Radon measure space. The echelon space associated to (gn) was defined by J. Dieudonné as the Köthe-dual of (gn), i.e. the space Λ of all locally integrable functions f such that all the integrals ∫ |f·gn| are finite. Denote by Λx the Köthe-dual of Λ. We prove that Λ(β(Λ,Λx)) is a Fréchet space with dual Λx. This result gives its correct sense to a wrong affirmation of J. Dieudonné and validates those instances where it has been used. As a tool to prove this result, we study the problem of when the strong dual of a perfect space coincides with its Köthe-dual and give some necessary and sufficient conditions.Artículo A Wide Class of Ultrabornological Spaces of Measurable Functions(Elsevier, 1995) Díaz Madrigal, Santiago; Florencio Lora, Miguel; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Our main result states that a bornological locally convex space having a suitable Boolean algebra of projections is ultrabornological. This general theorem, whose proof is a variation of the sliding-hump techniques used in [Dı́az et al., Arch. Math. (Basel)60 (1993), 73-78; Dı́az et al., Resultate Math.23 (1993), 242-250; Drewnowski el al., Proc. Amer. Math. Sec.114 (1992), 687-694; Drewnowski et al., Atti. Sem. Mat. Fis. Univ. Modena41 (1993), 317-329], is applied to prove that some non-complete normed spaces such as the spaces of Dunford, Pettis, or McShane integrable functions, as well as other interesting spaces of weakly or strongly measurable functions, are ultrabornological. We also give applications to vector-valued sequence spaces; in particular, we prove that ℓp{X} (1 ≤ p < ∞) is an ultrabornological DF-space when X is.Artículo Lifting the solutions of a Toeplitz type equation; the semigroup case X = TsXT*s(Universita del Salento, 1995) Bermudo Navarrete, Sergio; Hernández Mancera, Carmen; Paúl Escolano, Pedro José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)A Toeplitz operator with respect to a contractive representation {Ts} of an abelian semigroup Σ in a Hilbert space H is an operator X ∈ B(H) such that X = TsXT ∗ s for all s ∈ Σ. We show that if {Ts} has a minimal isometric dilation {Us} ⊂ B(K), then Toeplitz operators can be obtained in a unique way as compressions of operators Y ∈ B(K), called Toeplitz symbols, such that Y = UsY U ∗ s . This approach to lifting the Toeplitz equation X = TsXT ∗ s is shown to be unitarily equivalent to the one proposed by Muhly in 1972. We use our approach to extend to this case a number of theorems about classical Toeplitz operators and, finally, we show that some classes of well-known operators —like Wiener-Hopf operators, Toeplitz operators in H2 (T d ) or Toeplitz operators in the sense of Murphy— fall within the class studied in this paper. The main objective of this paper is to provide a general framework that, we hope, will be useful in order to extend to wider classes of operators some of the more recent and deep advances in the theory of Toeplitz operators.Artículo MATLAB y algunas de sus aplicaciones(1995) Montes Contreras, Celestino; Navarro Domínguez, María de los Ángeles; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI); Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada I (ETSII)Artículo El Potencial de Hart y Mas-Colell para Juegos Restringidos Por Grafos(Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, 1996) Bilbao Arrese, Jesús Mario; López Vázquez, Jorge Jesús; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada IIThis paper analyzes a model of formation of connected coalitions in a cooperative game. This model is a communication situation, and the Shapley value of this graph-restricted game is the Myerson value. The potential function for cooperative games was defined by Hart and Mas-Colell, and Winter showed that the Myerson value admits a potential function. We study a recursive procedure for computing the potential of the Myerson value. In section 3, we use the Myerson value for measuring voting power in the Spanish and the Andalusian Parliaments.Artículo Práctica con matlab en álgebra lineal en ingeniería industrial(Universidad de Sevilla., 1997) Basallote Galván, Manuela; Contreras Márquez, Manuel Domingo; Heredia Zapata, Manuel; López Armenteros, A.; Oliveros Troncoso, José; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemáticas, 1997) Llibre Saló, Jaume; Ponce Núñez, Enrique; Universidad de Sevilla. Departamento de Matemática Aplicada II (ETSI)Symmetric piecewise linear bi-dimensional systems are very common in control engineering. They constitute a class of non-differentiable vector fields for which classical Hopf bifurcation theorems are not applicable. For such systems, sufficient and necessary conditions for bifurcation of a limit cycle from the periodic orbit at infinity are given.
