METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Three analyses were conducted to assess the impact of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on player performance. Game minutes, maximum speed, and other performance variables before and after the tournament were examined. Statistical tests were used to compare differences, and effect sizes were calculated. All analyses were conducted using statistical software, and a significance level was established for the statistical tests.


1. Description of the methods used to collect and generate the data:
The running performance during the match was measured using TRACAB, a sophisticated multicamera computerized optical tracking system operated through the Mediacoach application. TRACAB had a sampling frequency set at 25 Hz. Previous studies demonstrated strong correlations (r > .80) and high intraclass correlation coefficients (r > .75) between TRACAB and the Global Positioning System for the specified variables, along with small standard errors of estimate (? .60) across all speed categories examined in the study.
