Dataset language: English 2. Abstract: The laboratory experiment “Valorization of waste with high Zn content” was designed to introduce the concept of circular economy and waste recovery to students of the Materials Engineering Degree at the University of Seville (Spain). This laboratory experiment has been carried out every academic year since 2015-16. This document contains the experimental data collected during the laboratory practices, which are necessary to respond to the questionnaire posed to the students. Likewise, the anonymized responses of the students to the pre- and post-laboratory questionnaires that were designed to evaluate the achievement of the pedagogical objectives are included. 3. Description of the methods used to collect and generate the data: Leaching: mass data of 5M sulfuric acid added (g) to mantain pH 1.5, versus time (min). Mass data are transformed into volume (mL) by dividing by the density of the solution that has previously been measured (d= 1.29). Cementation: Concentrations of Cu and Cd versus time, analyzed by AAS, in cementation test with metallic zinc. Iron Precipitation: mass data of 1M NaOH versus pH. NaOH consumption calculated from the density of the NaOH solution (d= 1.042) expressed as kg/t of sample. Basic Zinc carbonate precipitation: mass data of 1M sodium carbonate versus pH. Learning Assessment: Students' grades in each laboratory session (Practice 1 to 4) and fianl grade. Students' Pre-Lab and Post-Lab Test Results. (Anonymized Data) FILE OVERVIEW ---------------------- 1.
