Dataset language: Spanish 2. Abstract: This dataset is an outcome of the R&D Project "Entrepreneurial Factor, Digital Ecosystems, and SME Digitalization" (DIGIPYME), selected by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities under the 2020 call for R&D&I Projects of the 2017-2020 State Plan for Knowledge Generation. The central objective of the project is to analyze the digital transformation process of Spanish SMEs, with a particular focus on micro-enterprises. The aim is to identify factors that can facilitate or hinder this transformation and examine its impact on business outcomes. As a second general objective, the project seeks to study the role of the business factor in leading the digital transformation process of SMEs. Thus, the impact of characteristics defining the personal profile of entrepreneurs or managers on the development and results of the digital transformation process in SMEs will be analyzed. Finally, a third overarching objective of this project is to investigate the role that the formation of digital ecosystems can play in the SME digital transformation process. Formal and informal collaborative relationships within these ecosystems among companies, public institutions, associations, and intermediary organizations can stimulate, accelerate, and strengthen digital transformation processes in SMEs, helping them address limitations arising from their small size and deficiencies in certain resources (financial, human, and organizational). The data is derived from a survey targeted at entrepreneurs/managers of SMEs in Spain. The survey's sample frame was designed based on data from the Central Companies Directory (DIRCE) provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The operational definition of SME used in this research is that of any company with at least one employee but employing fewer than 200 workers. The questionnaire's structure comprises four sections, with a total of 108 items: - Company Data: 20 items. - Personal Characteristics of the Entrepreneur/Manager: 11 items. - Digital Transformation of the Company: 56 items. - Digital Ecosystems: 21 items. 3. Keywords: Digitalization, SME, digital ecosystem. 4. Date of data collection (fecha única o rango de fechas): 27/08/2022 5.
