La mente como “idea” del cuerpo. Spinoza en el proyecto de Antonio Damasio.

Abstract

Examinamos uno de los aspectos más relevantes de la interpretación que Damasio ha hecho del pensamiento de Spinoza, la mente como idea del cuerpo, que converge con un interés fundamental del neurólogo: la función de las representaciones cerebrales del cuerpo según un paradigma que pretende reformular el problema mente-cerebro. El encuentro entre ambos autores se comprende, además, por la afinidad de sus respectivas concepciones antropológicas.

We examine one of the most relevant aspects of the interpretation that Damasio has done of Spinoza's thought, the mind as idea of the body, which converges with a fundamental focus of the neurologist: the role of the cerebral representations of the body according to a paradigm that tries to re-formulate the mind-brain problem. The encounter between both authors is also understood by the affinity of their respective anthropological conceptions.
