El cuerpo oculto: metamorfosis sobrevenidas.

Abstract

Las experiencias relacionadas con la transformación del propio cuerpo suelen tener un carácter traumático, especialmente si dicha transformación se debe a algún tipo de accidente sobrevenido, a una deformación genética o es por enfermedad. A menudo, estas personas sienten la necesidad de modificar su realidad, y lo hacen buscando una vía de redención que les lleve aceptar su situación. Para los artistas esa vía de regeneración es la propia creación. En este trabajo hemos estudiado a una selección de creadores de los últimos tiempos que consideramos referentes pues, habiendo experimentado transformaciones físicas ajenas a su voluntad, han centrado su obra en torno a la metamorfosis del cuerpo, al dolor y a su sublimación, imprimiendo a su producción un fuerte carácter biográfico e identitario. En relación a sus respectivos trabajos hemos procurado subrayar las conexiones estéticas, procesuales y conceptuales existentes fundamentales.

The experiences related to the transformation of one's body usually have a traumatic nature, especially if this transformation is due to some type of accident occurred, a genetic strain or is sick. Often these people feel the need to change their reality, and they do looking for a path to redemption that leads them to accept their situation. For artists that path of regeneration is the creation itself. In this work we have studied a selection of artists of recent times as we consider concerning having experienced physical changes beyond their control, have focused their work around the metamorphosis of the body, pain and its sublimation printing to its production biographical strong character and identity. In relation to their work we have tried to emphasize the aesthetic connections, existing procedural and conceptual fundamentals.
