Nuevas propuestas interpretativas de las termas de Munigua (Villanueva de Río y Minas, Sevilla)

Abstract

Con este trabajo pretendemos aportar una interpretación funcional de los diferentes ambientes que conforman el edificio en cada una de las fases termales detectadas. A partir de la recogida de datos arqueo-arquitectónicos, presentamos una serie de hipótesis acerca de la funcionalidad interna del conjunto, así como del circuito y modelo termal. Finalmente, reflexionaremos sobre el papel del edificio dentro del urbanismo y de la vida del municipio.

With this work we intend to show a functional interpretation of the different spaces that compose the building in each of thermal phases detected. From the collected of archeological-architectural data, we present a series of hypotheses about the internal functionality of the bath complex, as well as the circuit and thermal model. Finally, we are approaching a reflection about the role of the building inside the urbanism and in the town life.
