El vídeo didáctico en el área de matemáticas en secundaria

Abstract

Los videos educativos de matemáticas en Internet son un recurso generalizado entre estudiantes de secundaria. Esta investigación estudia la producción científica sobre estos recursos didácticos, propone un instrumento validado para su evaluación y selecciona y publica un catálogo de vídeos de libre acceso a través de YouTube indexados curricularmente. Las investigaciones sobre el uso de los vídeos educativos a través de Internet en estudios universitarios respaldan su efectividad e identifican qué patrones afectan a la utilidad e intención de uso por parte de los estudiantes. Esta investigación presenta, en el contexto de la pandemia por Covid 19, la utilidad, facilidad de uso, disfrute e intención de uso percibida en 220 estudiantes de secundaria. A partir del catálogo de vídeos educativos de matemáticas y con una metodología híbrida que combina el Modelo de Aceptación Tecnológica (TAM) con grupos focales de estudiantes y sus profesores, los resultados revelan que los vídeos se perciben como un recurso útil y fácil de usar, manifestando su intención de seguir usándolos para aprender (enseñar) matemáticas en el aula. No se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los diferentes cursos de secundaria pero sí entre géneros, siendo la Utilidad Percibida (UP) por las mujeres, mayor que la de los hombres. La presencia en pantalla de un profesor, la duración y precisión de los contenidos son patrones fundamentales para el alumnado de todos los cursos. La inclusión de animaciones, música y píldoras humorísticas son importantes para los estudiantes más jóvenes. Los profesores añaden especial relevancia a la calidad técnica de la VC.

Educational mathematics videos on the Internet are a widespread resource among high school students. This research studies the scientific production on these didactic resources, proposes a validated instrument for their evaluation and selects and publishes a catalog of curricularly indexed videos that are freely accessible through YouTube. Researchs on the use of Video Lectures (VL) in university studies supports its effectiveness and identifies which patterns affect the usefulness and intention of use by students. This research presents, in the context of Covid 19 pandemic, the usefulness, ease of use, enjoyment and intention of use in 220 secondary education students. From a catalog of mathematics VL and with a hybrid methodology that combines the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with focus groups of students and their teachers, the results reveal that VL are perceived as a useful resource. Students and teachers show their intention to continue using them to learn (teach) mathematics in the classroom. We did not find significant differences between secondary courses, but we did study by gender. The USE for the women is higher than that of the male participants. The presence on screen of a teacher, the duration and accuracy of the contents are fundamental patterns for students of all courses. The inclusion of animations, music and humorous pills are important for younger students. The teachers add special relevance to the technical quality of the VL.
